Job Description

Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with Project HOPE in the search for a Chief Development and Communications Officer. The Chief Development and Communications Officer will advance private fundraising, marketing, and communications strategies that enhance Project HOPE's impact across global health, humanitarian, and international development initiatives. The Chief Development and Communications Officer will collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors to establish a vision for growth, brand influence, and donor engagement, with a goal of reaching $70 million in annual private funding over the next three years. The Chief Development and Communications Officer will oversee and lead Project HOPE’s Development and Communications team, executing comprehensive fundraising strategies — including Corporate and Foundation partnerships, Major and Legacy Giving, Direct Response, and Special Events — that sustain and expand the organization’s mission. The Chief Development and Communications Officer will set annual fundraising and brand-building goals, create marketing strategies, and strengthen Project HOPE’s brand to resonate globally, engage diverse audiences, and establish the organization as a trusted leader in international development, global health, and humanitarian work. In partnership with the President & Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Director’s Resource Development Committee, the Executive Vice President for Global Health, and the Chief Finance and Administrative Officer, the Chief Development and Communications Officer will align budgets with financial goals, ensure compliance, and oversee branding and special campaigns to raise Project HOPE’s profile worldwide. As a visionary leader, the Chief Development and Communications Officer will leverage the latest in digital marketing, technology, and philanthropic trends to connect with new audiences and deepen donor relationships. The Chief Development and Communications Officer will represent Project HOPE internationally, cultivate partnerships, strengthen team cohesion, and lead the organization’s efforts to build a high-impact global presence that attracts essential support and creates lasting relationships with donors and stakeholders. Project HOPE is a leading global health and humanitarian organization with over 65 years of experience transforming the health and well-being of communities around the world. With over 1,000 employees in more than 25 countries across five continents, Project HOPE works with local health workers and health systems to provide urgent relief and transformative solutions that drive lasting impact. Project HOPE is dedicated to working hand-in-hand with health workers on the front lines of the global health crisis. Its commitment is two-fold: providing urgent relief when disasters and humanitarian emergencies turn into health crises and investing in lasting solutions that improve access to care and save lives. Project HOPE trains health workers, strengthens health systems, and designs innovative global health programs in communities facing the devastating consequences of disaster, conflict, the climate emergency, and systemic inequalities. Project HOPE's Chief Development and Communications Officer should possess excellent judgment, analytical and decision-making skills as well as integrity and an unwavering commitment to the highest degree of personal and professional ethical standards. This role demands outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and engage with a broad and diverse audience. A bachelor's or advanced degree and at least twelve years of experience leading high-performing development and communications teams within a nonprofit organization is preferred for this position. Project HOPE will consider candidates with a broad range of backgrounds. If you are excited about this role and feel that you can contribute to Project HOPE, but your experience does not exactly align with every qualification listed above, we encourage you to apply. All applications must be accompanied by a cover letter and résumé. Cover letters should be responsive to the mission of Project HOPE and the responsibilities and competencies presented in the position prospectus. The salary range for this position is $300,000 to $325,000 annually. Project HOPE is committed to the inclusion of all qualified candidates. If you require reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, or participating in the selection process, please contact Jeanette Rivera-Watts at jeanetterw@aspenleadershipgroup.com.
