Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for both administrative and clinical tasks, making it essential to have excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians Perform basic coding for insurance purposes and maintain accurate patient records Schedule appointments and update electronic health records (EHR) Conduct X-ray procedures as needed, adhering to safety protocols Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment Prepare and sterilize medical instruments Provide support in urgent care settings, including triaging patients based on severity of conditions Collaborate with dermatology specialists for skin-related assessments and treatments Ensure compliance with hospital policies, especially in Level II Trauma Center environments Stay updated on anatomy and physiology to provide accurate patient care Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Experience 2 years minimum experience. Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar healthcare role is preferred. Familiar with emergency medicine practices is beneficial. Knowledge of coding systems relevant to medical billing is advantageous. Experience working in urgent care or trauma settings is a plus. Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology to assist in clinical assessments effectively. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
