The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, and the development and management of internal control policies and procedures. This role will emphasize advancing technology within the Accounting department by driving innovation, increasing automation, and leading the department into the future. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will lead a team responsible for accounting and vendor disbursements.

Essential Functions:
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, overseeing the monthly and year-end closing processes, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and the development and upkeep of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Prepare and publish timely financial statements for all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align efforts and achieve overall company goals. Working together and contributing practical solutions will help drive the company's success.
  • Track, manage, and report adjusted and pro forma EBITDA in alignment with addback definitions in merger and credit agreements.
  • Manage interactions with external accounting firms, including leading external audits, researching and analyzing accounting matters, and ensuring continuous development of financial reporting.
  • Oversee the accuracy and productivity of daily activities in accounts payable, cash disbursements, fixed asset records, and general ledger accounting.
  • Safeguard assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplined internal controls and checks across all departments.
  • Conduct proper analytical reviews of the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flows.
  • Interface with banks, lessors, casualty/liability insurance agents, and credit card companies.
  • Participate in and assist with due diligence, purchase accounting, and the integration of new locations.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new technologies and systems within the Accounting department to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Drive innovation and process improvements by leveraging automation and other technological advancements.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development .

    Supervisory Responsibility: Directly or indirectly leads the Accounting team.

    Travel Required: Occasional travel is required to company events or meetings.

    Qualifications:

    Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
    Experience:
    • 5-10+ years related experience, including public accounting, provider healthcare and management
    Skills and Competencies:
    • Exhibits a high degree intellectual curiosity and completes work with professional integrity
    • Strong US GAAP and financial reporting skills
    • Attention to detail, ethical, confidential, communicative, positive attitude and responsive team player
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications, ERP systems and other reporting
    • Possess written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate in a concise and timely manner
    • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external contacts to the organization.
    • Self-motivated, with excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Works cohesively within a team environment.
    • Professional presence and poise under pressure.
    • Critical thinking skills, with strong analytical abilities.
    • Strong work ethic and discipline to complete tasks thoroughly and on time.
    • Expert in Microsoft Office products and applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint; SmartSheet / MS Project; Zoom and other communication platforms.
    • Ability to abide by ethical guidelines and policies, including strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
    • Demonstrated ability to interface well with all departments within the company in a highly professional manner.
