Overview: Description We are seeking a motivated and eager Cybersecurity Intern to join our team at a large, privately held company. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will assist in protecting our digital assets, maintaining data privacy, and ensuring the resilience of our information systems against cyber threats. Responsibilities Assist in the development and implementation of cybersecurity strategies and policies. Support the security of end-user interactions, digital identities, end-point devices, network infrastructure, and system architectures. Participate in the information security program, helping to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of corporate data. Collaborate with a team of cybersecurity professionals and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the department. Coordinate with other departments to integrate security practices into their workflows and systems. Help conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Assist in responding to and recovering from security incidents and breaches, minimizing impact and implementing lessons learned. Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to keep our defenses up-to-date. Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, standards, and best practices. Familiarity with common security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, antivirus, encryption, VPN, etc. Ability to analyze and solve problems, troubleshoot issues, and communicate effectively. Strong interest and passion for learning new skills and staying updated on cybersecurity trends and developments. Previous experience or certification in cybersecurity is a plus, but not required.
