This position is responsible to perform maintenance and repairs on various types of diesel truck and trailer to keep them in safe working condition. Will perform maintenance and repairs on private fleet of equipment consisting mainly of Ready Mix trucks, dump trucks, tractor/side dumps and pneumatic trucks/trailers. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members.

The typical schedule is M-F 8am-6pm with a 30 minute lunch break. Pay starts at $29.40HR and up depending on experience.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 + years minimum working with semi-trucks and trailers. Must be able to diagnose component, troubleshoot, repair, communicate and document.
  • Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
  • CDL a plus

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for performing maintenance and repairs of a significant nature on all types of equipment and/or assisting with repairs/improvements/maintenance of equipment to assure it is in safe working condition.
  2. Safely operate equipment, standard and specialty tools, welders, hoists and other lifting devices, etc. on a daily basis.
  3. Troubleshooting equipment maintenance problems to properly diagnose components to determine method and extent of repair necessary.
  4. Read, interpret, analyze and apply information in technical manuals and schematics.
  5. Anticipate needed parts and supplies, disassemble equipment and parts, fabricate parts when needed and reassemble equipment and parts.
  6. Use cutting torch and perform welding tasks.
  7. Clean work areas.
  8. Fill out shop repair orders daily.
  9. Drive and maintain mechanic's truck.
  10. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written). Frequent contact and communication with others within and outside the company.
  11. Self-motivated, team-player with excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or in a team setting; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
