We are seeking a Director of Financial Reporting who wants to use their knowledge to help grow our venture capital-backed business. Someone who has strong analytical and problem solving skills would be a perfect fit.

As a Director of Financial Reporting , some of your job duties will include:

  • Lead the preparation and filing of SEC reports, initially related to IPO preparation including the S-1, also including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required filings. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting guidelines
  • Maintain and improve reporting processes, systems, and controls to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Develop and enhance management reporting processes, including internal and BOD communications
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, leases, and business development opportunities
  • Support annual external audit process
  • Support organizational financial, planning, and analysis efforts, including revenue forecasting, expense variance, and other areas of detailed analysis
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
  • Partner with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews
  • Ensure SOX compliance and readiness for audit requirements
  • Build and develop a small team of accounting and finance professionals
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to provide insights into financial results and trends
  • Support finance initiatives, budgeting, and strategic planning

To be successful as a Director of Financial Reporting , you will have the following experiences and skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and corporate experience in a public company
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and technical accounting issues
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Experience in the medical device, healthcare, or related industries is a plus
  • Proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Commitment to ethical standards and continuous learning
