About the Role

The Company is seeking a Director of Quality to lead and grow an agile organization of engineers and quality assurance professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the enduring high quality of the company's product, which is a critical part of military operations. This role involves managing a team that works closely with software development, release management, and site reliability engineers to integrate quality standards and measures into every stage of the development, release, and support processes. The Director of Quality will also be tasked with driving the strategy and investment to achieve high quality at speed and scale, particularly in the context of a SaaS product deployed in air-gapped secret networks. Key responsibilities include developing QA standards and processes, coaching and mentoring the team, and establishing KPIs to evaluate testing efforts. Applicants for the Director of Quality position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a quality manager in a startup-like environment and a professional engineering background, with some development experience in technologies like React and Node.js. The role requires a proven track record in team leadership, project management, and a comprehensive understanding of testing and quality best practices. The ideal candidate will have implemented shift left methodologies to improve code quality and be adept at managing the full spectrum of people operations. A passion for fostering collaborative teams, a commitment to delivering high quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are essential. The company values individuals who are dedicated to creating value for users, are ambitious, scrappy, and creative problem-solvers, and who work with integrity, intellectual honesty, and a low ego.
