The Director of Talent Development is a key role responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing programs that enhance teammate performance, leadership capability, and career growth across the organization. This role will drive the development and execution of talent strategies that align with business goals, including leadership development, succession planning, performance management, learning & development, and organizational effectiveness. The Director will partner closely with leaders, HR partners, and key stakeholders to cultivate a high-performance culture that attracts, retains, and develops top talent.

Responsibilities

  • Identify learning and development needs within the organization through consultation with management and human resources.
  • Recommend, identify, develop and execute learning and development programs based on both the organization's and the individual's needs.
  • Evaluate the costs of planned programs and keep within budgets
  • Work cross-functionally and with various levels of management within the organization to produce programs that are satisfactory to all relevant parties.
  • Create and manage programs to further develop talent in areas such as succession management, leadership development, management development and mentoring
  • Ensure newly hired and promoted management and non-management employees are properly oriented to the organization and their roles through development of learning paths
  • Measure effectiveness of programs and amends as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment
  • Produce learning content for in-house courses.
  • Manage the delivery of learning and development programs.
  • Ensures statutory training requirements are met.
  • Assist managers to solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
  • Maximize available technology for training needs.
  • Stay current with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses.
  • Stays current in understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages.
  • Develop trainer development programs and coach others involved in training efforts, providing effective growth and development opportunities.
  • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in education, business administration or liberal arts
  • Eight years related experience in a Human Resources corporate or business setting.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking, technical and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record in creating and delivering L & D programs that were effective and impactful to employees/organization.
  • Ability to take initiative, create momentum and foster organizational change.

Salary Range Information:

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the targeted base salary for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
