Job Description

Fort Lauderdale Law Firm focusing on Immigration Law and Criminal Defense is seeking an experienced immigration paralegal to join our team. Job requirements include : communicating directly with clients via phone and email, gathering supporting documents, drafting applications and pleadings, preparing court filings, coordinating hearings, and maintaining firm calendar. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills. Prior significant immigration experience is REQUIRED.

Spanish fluency strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will be a critical and creative thinker, quick on their feet, detail oriented, and someone who looks at clients as a person and not a case file. This position is best suited for someone with experience working in a small business environment who is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks and working as a team.

Salary range of $55,000-$75,000 depending on experience. Candidates hired at the higher end of the salary range must have several years of experience and exceptional qualifications.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree, Paralegal Certification, or Law Degree Preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, additional languages a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and calm professional attitude.
  • Solid organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.
