PACKAGING TECHNICIAN - 1st Shift The packaging technicians will support a Food Manufacturing client that needs some help getting caught up on a production run. Some rework, opening cases, shrink wrapping and working in the cooler is expected. LOCATION: Garland, TX 75041 POSITION: Contract 1 to 2 weeks. Option to extend SHIFT HOURS: 8:00am to 5pm (Thursday - Monday and off on Tue and Wed) PAY: $20.00 hr to start. ***Weekly Pay*** START: ASAP this week BENEFITS: Healthcare, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Telehealth, Prescription Drug Discount Plan etc. PACKAGING TECHNICIAN The Packaging Technician has the primary responsibility of product staging, machine set up, operating, cleaning, and sanitizing the filling machine. The operator will work in a team of 3-6 people who manage the filling and packaging of sour cream and cottage cheese to meet inventory and customer needs. The duties will include coordinating with the Processing team to make ready cultured product for packaging, machine operation, and packing cases while moving finished goods to the Replenishment team. Job requires frequent bending, lifting, and twisting. The Packaging Technician is required to package products per packaging requirements. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Set filling equipment up to allow for product introduction i.e., clean in place, sterilize, and product fill Material handling of packaging materials; cups, foil, shippers, etc. Entering material movement into inventory systems as appropriate Staging product and packaging supplies to meet daily production schedule Operate and troubleshoot state-of-the-art processing system through automated and manual controls - filling and packaging equipment including weight control Performing food safety and quality assurance protocols as designated by procedures Operate box forming and packing equipment Document and record production and quality information as necessary Work closely with maintenance to promote an environment of continuous improvement Execute timely machine preventative maintenance and repair as necessary Responsible for increasing machine efficiencies and reducing waste through ownership, teamwork, communication, and cross-departmental collaboration. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum requirement is a High School diploma or G.E.D Must be able to lift 50lbs No nicotine use *** Must pass a Nicotine test upon full time hire with client. Able to Pass Drug Screen - *** Hair Folical test upon full time hire with client.
