The Executive Housekeeper oversees and maintains the cleanliness, organization, and supply management of the home's interior and exterior living spaces. This role will ensure high service and cleanliness standards for a private family home, coordinating with housekeeping staff or contract cleaners as necessary. With limited supervision, the Executive Housekeeper will respond to the family's evolving needs and schedules while maintaining discretion and professionalism.

Reports To: Estate Manager

General Hours: 9-5, Monday & Thursday OFF. Flexibility needed outside of working hours. OT available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Housekeeping, Cleaning, and Organization

  • Daily Duties – Ensure the home meets 5-star hotel cleaning standards, including general tidying, deep cleaning, and inspections.
  • Organization – Maintain organized storage areas (drawers, cabinets, shelves) and optimize space use while respecting boundaries on areas that should remain as is.
  • Cleaning Methods – Implement appropriate cleaning techniques and use approved products, including organic options.
  • Inventory Management – Track and replenish household product supplies, document inventory, and manage orders.
  • Floral & Plant Care – Order, maintain and replace interior floral arrangements and plants as needed.

Laundry & Closet Management

  • Laundry – Manage all household laundry, including clothing, linens, and towels. Follow special care instructions, such as spot treatments, steam/iron, hand washing, and dry cleaning.
  • Packing/Unpacking - Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel.
  • Closet Organization - Maintain organized, well-structured closets, managing garments by type, color, and season—archive and store seasonal items as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND GENERAL STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Professional Abilities – Formal training in housekeeping or hospitality is preferred. CPR certification is required.
  • Budget Management – Create and operate within an approved annual budget.
  • Risk Management – Always use personal protection equipment and immediately alert the Estate Manager to unsafe conditions.
  • Teamwork – Maintain strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaborate with the estate manager and team members, and offer constructive feedback. Help other staff when needed.
  • Self-Directed – Ability to work independently and support team tasks as required.
  • Privacy, Safety, and Security – Maintain high levels of confidentiality. Adhere to safety protocols and non-disclosure agreements regarding the principal's privacy.
  • Events and Hospitality – Provide food and beverage services, assist during holidays, special events, and guest dinners, and maintain hospitality standards.
  • Physical Demands: You must safely lift up to 50 lbs., work on your feet, and know when to request assistance.
  • Personal Skills – Proficiency in English, 5+ years of experience on large properties, and a passion for working in a residential environment. Must have excellent references, valid CPR/AED certification, a driver's license, vehicle insurance, and U.S. work authorization.
  • Technical Skills – Basic understanding of smartphones, online calendars, project management software, Word, and Excel.
  • Communication – Regular updates and collaboration with the Estate Manager are required via the house management system.
  • Other Requirements – English proficiency, valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and U.S. work authorization.
  • Principal Requests – Must be adaptable and able to pivot toward accomplishing owner requests.
  • Salary Range: DOE
  • Benefits: We offer a $500 monthly health reimbursement and a $60 monthly phone stipend.
