Job Summary As the General Manager at Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Boston, MA, you will oversee dining and food services, ensuring smooth operations, managing a team, maintaining relationships, and contributing to growth. This role involves financial management, team leadership, and collaboration with the catering department, aligning dining services with overall facility operations. Free onsite parking! Monday-Friday schedule. Key Responsibilities: Lead employee meetings, reviews, and training programs to ensure high performance Ensure compliance with policies and regulations Manage the budget, monitor food costs, uphold quality standards Build positive relationships with staff, clients, and guests Oversee financials including sales, P&L, budgeting, cash handling Analyze financial trends and recommend improvements Supervise purchasing, inventory, menu planning with chefs Ensure food safety and quality control per HACCP Enforce health, safety, fire regulations Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience At least 5 years upscale food service management experience Experience in hiring, supervising, developing personnel Ability to meet goals and client expectations Reside in or near Boston for seamless coordination Fine dining and high-level leadership experience (Assistant GM, GM, Director) Experience managing upscale hotels, restaurants, or similar Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, financial skills Expertise in food purchasing, cost control, inventory Proficient in budgets, financial reports, forecasts Knowledge of cash handling and bank reconciliations Understanding of HACCP guidelines Excellent client relations and etiquette Proficient in MS Office; ServSafe or health certification a plus Apply to Flik today!
