Job Title: Geotechnical Construction Quality Engineer

Location: Tri-Cities, Washington

Contract: 2-year contract, with the possibility of being extended

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (some fieldwork may require adjusted hours)

Salary: up to 200K DOE

Relocation: Offered (if applicable)

Offer: Per diem and housing

About the Role

We’re a growing civil engineering firm seeking a Geotechnical Construction Quality Engineer to support field and quality control operations on infrastructure and energy projects. This role ensures construction meets design and safety standards, with a focus on earthwork, foundations, and materials testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site QA/QC for geotechnical construction (e.g., soil compaction, foundations, slopes)
• Review geotechnical reports, specs, and test data for field compliance
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues
• Maintain daily field logs, document test results, and produce quality reports
• Support submittals, RFIs, and construction documentation

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
• PE license required (Washington preferred or ability to obtain quickly)
• 3–7 years of geotechnical or construction QA/QC experience
• Landfill project experience is a plus!
• Strong understanding of field testing, materials, and geotechnical procedures
• Clear communication and solid documentation skills
