Job Description

• Reporting to and at the direction of the Senior Internal Auditor -- the Internal Auditor 1 has developed the basic skills toward being able to independently perform financial, operational, compliance, and/or investigative audits of the Health System and its related entities; reviews and assesses the effectiveness of internal controls within the organization; prepares and communicates audit findings, conclusions, and recommendations in a timely manner; provides consultative and supportive type services to various stakeholders as requested; provides information and assistance to external auditors. Conducts follow up audits to monitor operations' interventions. Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards. Must be knowledgeable to interpret regulations and guidelines related to Federal register, CMS, DCH, etc. Must maintain confidentiality and discretion on all work matters with regards to patients, employees and Phoebe business.

• Associates (Required) or if no degree, total of 4 years directly related experience in the healthcare industry, internal audit, legal, compliance or government programs

• If Associates degree – 2 years directly related experience. If no degree, 4 years directly related experience in the healthcare industry, internal audit, legal, compliance or government programs

• Preferred Certifications/Licensures: HCCA Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC), CPA and/or CIA (Preferred)
