POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
The Junior Web Developer shapes the digital experiences that users interact with on Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. websites by bridging the gap between aesthetics and functionality to ensure that virtual assets are usable, accessible and enhance the user experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs intuitive graphic user interface elements, including menus, tabs, navigation bars, and widgets that enhance usability and engagement. Supports existing infrastructure.
Supports and maintains the company website, including content updates and performance optimization. Determines site's users.
Continuously iterates on and enhances the user interface and overall user experience of digital products, including websites, mobile apps, and software. Confers with the client to discuss ideas for the layout, colors, and organization of the site.
Collaborates closely with internal departments to contribute to all aspects of website and application design.
Conducts user research, including persona development, journey mapping, and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve the overall user experience.
Uses version control systems (e.g., Git) for collaborative development and code management.
Employs performance optimization techniques to ensure fast-loading and responsive web experiences across various devices and browsers.
Creates fully interactive HTML prototypes to simulate user interactions and validate design decisions. Organizes content.
Uses design systems and component libraries to maintain consistency and scalability in UI design across multiple projects.
Uses SEO principles and techniques to optimize website performance and user experience.
Uses website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
Tests web applications units and systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS)
Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of UI/UX related projects.
Minimum of four (4) years of web design experience.
Strong experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe XD, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Experience working with coding languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
Familiarity with iMIS Rise association management software is a plus.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to travel as necessary for major events where staff participation is required.
Relocation assistance not available. Must reside within a 50-mile radius of National Headquarters within six (6) months of start date.
Proof of comprehensive COVID-19 vaccination required.
SALARY RANGE
$82,000 - $95,000
