Salary Range: $95,004 $142,506 (commensurate with experience)

The Nurse Manager has 24/7 operational and clinical responsibility for the Burn and Trauma ICU unit, ensuring a high standard of evidence-based, goal-directed nursing care. This leader promotes autonomy in nursing practice, ensures team accountability, and fosters an environment aligned with the mission and values of Medical City Plano and the Department of Nursing. The Nurse Manager also plays a key role in performance improvement, team development, and maintaining Magnet or Pathway to Excellence standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead a 30-bed unit (16 Trauma ICU beds, 14 Burn ICU beds) with oversight of 85 FTEs (headcount: 57)
Develop and implement care delivery models and patient safety plans using the nursing process
Manage staffing, budgeting, clinical outcomes, and quality standards
Supervise and coach nursing staff with a focus on professional growth and accountability
Participate in hospital-wide committees, performance improvement projects, and strategic initiatives
Ensure adherence to hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards
Foster collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
Address and report patient safety trends using hospital systems for incident reporting
Minimum 5 years' acute care RN experience in a Burn or Trauma ICU
Minimum 2 years' acute care leadership experience (Burn or Trauma ICU)
Experience at a Magnet or Pathway to Excellence facility
Texas RN license or Compact State RN license
BSN required; MSN preferred
BLS and ACLS required
National Specialty Certification (or plan to obtain within 12 months of hire)
Trauma experience highly preferred
Strong leadership and communication skills
Flexible schedule with availability for nights/weekends when needed
Passion for performance improvement, clinical excellence, and mentorship
Experience with inpatient critical care and high-acuity environments
Demonstrated success in staff development and collaborative culture
