The Mikisew Cree First Nation (Mikisew) has lived on the ancestral lands of the Athabasca Delta and Wood Buffalo National Park in northeastern Alberta since time immemorial. Who You Are

Mikisew is currently seeking a dedicated a Office Manager . The Office Manager oversees the efficient functioning of our office operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day activities and providing administrative support to various departments. They are responsible for managing office supplies, coordinating meetings and events, handling correspondence, and implementing office policies and procedures to maintain a productive work environment.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Manage office operations and administrative activities, including but not limited to mail distribution, supply inventory, and office maintenance.
  • Coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for staff and executives.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and mail.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new employees, including setting up workstations and providing necessary resources.
  • Work alongside administrative staff and provide training and guidance as needed.
  • Manage office budgets and expenses, tracking spending and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and management, addressing concerns and facilitating communication.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and handle confidential documents with discretion.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all company assets, including office equipment, technology, furniture, and supplies.
  • Ensure all assets are tracked, tagged, and properly recorded in the asset management.
  • Coordinate the disposal, transfer, or upgrade of company assets in compliance with company policies.
  • Manage the procurement of new assets, including getting quotes, placing orders, and following up on delivery and installation.
  • Conduct periodic audits of company assets to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Help generate and prepare office-related reports, such as monthly expense reports and asset management updates.
  • Review and reconcile monthly corporate credit card statements with transaction records, ensuring that all charges are valid, appropriately documented, and within company policy.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in office management or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in office management or administrative roles, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other office management software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
