Dealer Trade Driver – On-Call Position
J.C. Lewis Motor Co. is seeking reliable Dealer Trade Drivers to assist with vehicle exchanges between our dealerships and other automotive dealerships. This on-call position offers flexibility for individuals looking for part-time work with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:Vehicle Transportation: Safely transport vehicles to and from other dealerships for trade-ins, purchases, or exchanges.
Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections before and after transportation, documenting any damage or issues.
Documentation: Accurately complete vehicle condition reports, mileage logs, and trade documents.
Scheduling: Coordinate transportation schedules to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with dealership staff.
Vehicle Maintenance: Report any maintenance or repair needs for assigned vehicles.
Safety Compliance: Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies.
Communication: Keep dealership management informed of transportation progress.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
At least 21 years of age.
Prior experience in a similar role is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and follow company procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to sit for extended periods and lift/carry heavy objects as needed.
May involve long-distance travel and occasional overnight stays.
Company vehicles provided for work-related transportation.
Adherence to dealership dress code.
$.30 per mile or $50 minimum trip payment
$10 per cancelled trade (if driver has arrived before cancellation)
$20 per vehicle inspection (for external transfers)
$10 per hour wait time (after first hour)
Reimbursements (if approved):
$130 max per night for overnight stay (authorized for round trips over 10 hours )
$25 per meal (if overnight stay is required)
Tolls and out-of-pocket fuel costs
