2nd shift Painter: 2:00PM - 10:30PM

Job Purpose:

Under the supervision of the painter, assists workers engaged in painting of signs and sign components, including preparing signs for painting and crating finished signs for shipping to the customer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares and may assist in painting new signs, existing signs, sign cabinets, sign lettering per
  • specifications
  • Clean and maintain work area to provide a safe and organized work environment
  • Work safely to prevent on the job injuries following all safety regulations; including PPE (safety glasses, goggle, safety shoes, and on occasion gloves, dusk mask, or job specific safety equipment)
  • Cleans and maintains equipment
  • Interacts with painters
  • Interacts with other departments
  • Completes daily time-ticket
  • Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned

Skills Qualifications
  • Ability to work in an organized manner to coordinate multiple work activities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person
  • Solid basic math skills
  • Strong work ethic with an enthusiastic, positive attitude, and the highest level of integrity
  • Good communication skills in order to receive and follow instructions and communicate to others necessary information pertaining to the production of signs
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance

Education/Training/Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-year prior painting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish
  • Respiratory Mask Fit Test

Physical Demands

Work is generally performed in a shop environment. While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk; talk or hear in person; sit; climb or balance; stoop, push, kneel, crouch, or crawl; smell; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands or arms. The employee frequently is required to stand. Employees must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Employees in this class are required to wear respirators regularly. In accordance with CAL/OHSA regulations, employees are prohibited from having facial or head hair that impairs the effectiveness of respirator equipment. Mental Demands

The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, is exposed to cold or humid conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to acetone, Low VOC Cleaner, Paint, Primer, Epoxy, Caulk, and Body Filler.
