HOSPITAL MEDICINE NOCTURNIST needed for growing team in New Orleans. The Department of Hospital Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans is seeking physicians to expand our night Hospital Medicine team at our tertiary academic referral center. BC/BE Internal Medicine and Family Medicine physicians are encouraged to apply.Position Highlights:Dedicated swing and night hospitalist team with three physicians (2 swing, 1 nocturnist), two advance practice providers, multiple resident physicians, growing to add an additional attending physician.This nocturnist role is a second nocturnist who will work simultaneously with our lead nocturnist and swing team to provide care for hospitalized adult patients.Large, well-established department with 60 physicians and 16 advance practice providers who care for approximately 250-300 patients daily.Clinical duties include inpatient and observation admissions, cross-coverage of inpatients, emergent overnight consults, and supervision of Internal Medicine residents. Triage of admissions is performed by the lead nocturnist on duty.Closed ICU, dedicated ICU code blue team 24/7, dedicated rapid response team, 24/7 procedural support.24/7 hospitalist transfer physician at Patient Flow Center to take transfer requests, who provides documentation and handoff for the receiving physicians.Integrated Epic EMR.24/7 social work and case management support.Competitive base salary with annual quality bonus, CME allowance, comprehensive health, paid parental leave.Relocation assistance.Schedule is 7on/7off with flexibility, schedule is built annually to facilitate vacation and holiday planning.Moonlighting available during off days at any Ochsner Hospital Medicine location (10 hospitals).Department Highlights:767-bed main tertiary referral center for a robust hospital network across the Gulf South, the main teaching hospital for over 300 residents and fellows, the Ochsner Clinical School- University of Queensland School of Medicine, the Xavier Physician Assistant program, and the Xavier Pharmacy school, and the newly announced Xavier-Ochsner College of Medicine.One of the oldest hospitalist groups in the country, established in 1992.
