Job Description:
Salary Range: $50,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience
Collective Bargaining Unit: This position is governed by APA
Hours: This position is 37.5 hours
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Program Coordinator of Student Engagement supports the Director of Student Engagement by creating and implementing leadership development opportunities and contributing to departmental events, goals, and initiatives.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director of Student Engagement
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Student Staff
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and facilitate leadership development opportunities and programs for current and future student leaders.
Coordinate the Student Leadership Employment Process.
Coordinate the Student Leadership Awards process and ceremony.
Assist in the implementation of New Student & Family Orientation and transition programs.
Coordinate Civic Engagement efforts.
Assist in the planning and implementation of Student Engagement programs.
Assist in marketing programs and events.
Assist Director and Student Development staff in supporting major university programs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Working Conditions:
In addition to working Monday through Friday, this individual may need to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Effort:
- Occasional (10-33%) - Reaching, pushing, grasping and pulling. Lifting up to 10 pounds.
- Frequent (34-66%) - Standing and walking.
- Constant (67-100%) - Viewing of computer screen and reports, sitting, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 1-3 years working in a Higher Education setting
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to take initiative, and work independently and creatively
- Computer literacy and experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, data analysis.
- Strong fiscal management skills
- Experience working closely with students from diverse backgrounds in a higher education setting.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Counseling or related field
- Experience supervising student employees, and advising student leaders
- Spanish speaking and/or multilingual
