Job Description

Purchase Order Administrator
Permanent
Career Level 7
Location: Hybrid Flexible (Houston/Monroe/Baton Rouge)
CLOSING DATE: January 06th 2025

Are you a skilled administrator who enjoys working in an engaging, collaborative and sometimes challenging environment? Have you demonstrated your ability to be organized, set priorities and build great relationships with stakeholders and suppliers alike, and can you bring these skills to Drax?

If so, this role provides an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team here at Drax where you'll support the important role Procurement has to play as Drax executes its strategy to be a carbon negative company by 2030.

Who we are:

We're not just talking about making a difference, we're making it happen. We generate dispatchable, renewable power and create stable energy in an uncertain world. Building on our proud heritage, we have ambition to become the global leader in sustainable biomass and carbon removals.

Drax is playing a vital role in helping change the way energy is generated, supplied, and used. To learn more about how we are enabling zero carbon, lower cost energy future, please click here.

About the role:
As a Purchase Order (PO) Administrator, you'll be responsible for placing orders with suppliers, processing requisitions and playing your part in the implementation of the global procurement policy at Drax.

You'll be working closely with the Pellet production plants to ensure seamless support in reviewing requisitions and converting them into Purchase Orders as appropriate. You'll also maintain relevant important documentation, support the reporting of requisitions and PO metrics ensuring completion of tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

You'll build meaningful and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive procurement excellence at every stage of the process.

This is a fast-paced role, which naturally requires accuracy and working to tight deadlines. Ensuring compliance to policies and procedures will ensure that service levels are always met, driving compliance with important governance requirements and aligning with our procurement strategy.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you'll work in a hybrid approach with 2 -3 days a week in one of the Drax North America corporate offices (whichever is closest to you).

About you:
As an ideal candidate you'll have a high school degree or equivalent. You'll bring along at least 2 - 3 years of experience in procurement administration and support preferably in the energy, biomass, forestry or manufacturing industry. Experience in working with an ERP system is mandatory, and experience working in Dynamics 365 (procurement) is advantageous.

You'll have a strong understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, have a high level of attention to detail and a sense of urgency to provide prompt and organised support.

The ability to provide prompt, efficient and personalised service to internal customers at all levels is imperative, to make certain that their needs are met, and productive relationships are built and maintained while also ensuring process and policy compliance.

The role will include minimal travel (less than 10%) to the Drax Pellet production sites to meet internal stakeholders and familiarise yourself with the business.

You'll be based in and live in within commute time of any of the following Drax offices:
Texas or Louisiana (US) - Houston, Monroe or Baton Rouge

Rewards and benefits:

As you help us to shape the future, we've shaped our rewards and benefits to help you thrive and support your lifestyle. If successful in this role you'll get:
