Basic Job Functions:

Kirby is seeking applicants for the position of Quality Assurance/NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Inspector. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System and provide support to our facility teams. This multi-function position will include but is not limited to the safe performance of the responsibilities listed below:

• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
• Perform Quality Assurance auditing of all facility workstations.
• Incorporate Safety and Environmental observations and conversations into daily responsibilities.
• Perform NDT inspections of various structural members.
• Provide feedback in support of continual improvement of all functioning areas.
• Provide support for the facility in the form of reports, qualifications, and technical guidance.
• Participate in Quality/NDT functions offsite or at other Nucor divisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Willingness to work rotating shifts.
• General knowledge of metal buildings and/or construction.
• Good working knowledge of measuring equipment.
• Basic computer skills to include Word and Excel.
• Valid driver's license.
• General working knowledge of NDT disciplines.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Quality experience.
• AWS CWI certification or ability to achieve.
• ASNT NDT certifications or ability to achieve.
• Field inspection and/or steel construction experience.

Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
