Job Description

As a Regional Property Manager at Kay, you'll lead a dynamic portfolio across Maryland and Virginia, overseeing operations, financial management, and customer service to ensure success. This leadership role reports to the Director of Property Management and collaborates with a dedicated team of regional property managers. Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management: Oversee property performance across communities in Maryland and Virginia.
  • Leadership: Guide and support onsite teams in management, leasing, and maintenance; foster team morale and positive work environments.
  • Staffing & Training: Ensure proper staffing, participate in hiring, mentor managers, and provide ongoing training.
  • Customer Relations: Resolve resident concerns, ensuring top-tier customer service.
  • Property Condition & Improvements: Perform site inspections and recommend capital improvements to maintain property standards.
  • Liability & Incident Management: Address liability concerns, manage legal matters, and oversee building security.
  • Budgets & Financials: Develop operating budgets and ensure cost-effective operations within approved budgets.
  • Community Goals: Work with leadership to set and achieve operational, financial, and business goals.
  • Reporting: Utilize property management software for timely and accurate reporting.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to policies, regulations, and training requirements.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience as a Community Manager or Senior Community Manager.
  • College degree and industry certifications (CAM, CAPS, ARM, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong leadership, customer service, and financial management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software (Jenark/Ribbon, MaxLeases, etc.) a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
