Every day, more architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and owners specify Wells precast building components for their construction needs and with this continued success, we are looking to hire a
Sealants Foreman to join our team. The perfect candidate will have some experience in the sealants and restoration industry and have some leadership experience.
This position starts pays between $31-$37 per hour depending on experience. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Sealant Foreman is responsible for the installation of sealant and waterproofing systems on precast buildings, ramps, and other buildings. This position could travel throughout the region to construction sites with a 1-6-person crew.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure safety of crew/personnel, including the proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and company vehicles
- Ensure overall quality of completed sealants/waterproofing jobs.
- Follow direction of Field Supervisor and bring any problems to their attention.
- Manage a crew of 1-6 people.
- Read and understand material data sheets, safety data sheets, plans and specifications.
- Communicate with crew and office personnel, report quantities in place, complete daily reports, etc.
- Work in collaboration with manufacturer's representatives and jobsite representatives.
- Attend jobsite meetings as necessary.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Maintain a clean jobsite and trailer/truck.
- Identify and mix custom colors of sealant for jobs.
- Install expansion joints of all types (emseal, wabo, winged, pre-compressed, etc).
- Install Traffic Coatings from all manufacturers (Sika, Tremco, MasterBuilders, LymTal, etc).
- Sealing of all types of joints including but not limited to: Precast, Plumbing Fixtures, Interior Finishes, Glass/Glazing, Slab on Grade.
- Installation of Fire Stopping materials including but not limited to: RectorSeal, Mineral Wool, Smoke Seal (Hilti, STI, 3M, Metacaulk), Hilti Assemblies.
- Installation of waterproofing with different materials including blindside applications.
- Mentoring other caulkers to understand full functions of sealants.
- Perform a variety of tasks on construction sites.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 Years Prior experience in sealants/waterproofing application.
- Precast concrete and construction site experience preferred.
- Prior experience managing crews.
- Valid driver's license required and ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
- CPR Certified preferred.
- Boom Lift/Swing Stage experience preferred.
- OSHA30 preferred.
- Familiarity of Urethane, Hybrid, Silicone, Acrylic materials.
- Safety/Productivity driven.
- Quality minded.
- Must have interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
- Must be motivated and self-driven to complete a task.
- Understand and accept changes that are implemented to become Best-in-Class.
- Ability and willingness to learn/use new products and scopes of work.
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Ability to work with others to get the project completed efficiently.
- Understand safety requirements to maintain a safe job site.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Possession of valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to lift 70lbs+ occasionally and 50lbs frequently.
- Ability to bend, squat, and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment.
- Visual acuity and ability to read small print.
- Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
- Moderate to high risk of safety precautions
- Moderate to high exposure to jobsite environment.
