Responsible for coding and compliance research, education, and auditing programs ensuring the quality assurance program for proper coding of medical charges billed by Providence Medical Group and Program providers. This includes responsibility for oversight of timely and accurate audits of providers utilizing current coding/compliance guidelines for CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, HCC, CMS, third party payer requirements, and contract agreements. This position will work closely in partnership with the PMG Finance Leadership, clinic leadership, Executive PMG/Programs, and Physicians' Business Office obtaining, reporting essential data, assisting in problem solving coding issues and ongoing education of providers and staff.

Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree Or 4 years or more experience working as a Manager or supervisor in a coding, clinical and/or business office setting.
  • Coursework/Training and Medical Coding Certification
  • Upon hire: National Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders Or
  • Upon hire: National Certified Coding Associate - American Health Information Management Association Or
  • Upon hire: National Certified Coding Specialist - American Health Information Management Association Or
  • Upon hire: National Certified Coding Specialist - Physician - American Health Information Management Association Or
  • Upon hire: National Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner - American Health Information Management Association Or
  • Upon hire: National Certified Health Data Analyst - American Health Information Management Association Or
  • Upon hire: National Registered Health Information Administrator - American Health Information Management Association Or
  • Upon hire: National Registered Health Information Technician - American Health Information Management Association
  • 6 years of experience in medical coding and auditing with thorough knowledge of CPT,ICD-10, and HCC coding principles.
  • 4 years of Supervisory/management experience
  • 6 years of Coding/Compliance operation and/or financial, coding/compliance or clinical audit experience.
  • 5 years of experience working with physicians and physician leaders.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
