Special Education Teacher (SPED) - Middle School

Location: Merion Station, PA
Position Type: Full-time
Hours: 35 hours/week
Caseload: Middle School (6th - 8th Grades)
Start Date: ASAP

Job Summary:
We areseeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. This position involves working with middle school students in grades 6-8 who have emotional and behavioral needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in special education and a passion for helping students achieve their academic and social goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students in 6th-8th grades with emotional and behavioral needs.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student.
• Collaborate with other staff members, including support staff, behavior analysts, and counselors, to create a positive learning environment.
• Monitor and track student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
• Manage classroom behavior and implement positive behavior interventions.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other team members.
• Support students social, emotional, and academic development.
• Other duties as assigned by administration.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred).
• PA Certification in Special Education (Grades K-12 or middle school certification).
• Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges is preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
