CHICAGO KICS FOOTBALL CLUB is looking for individuals to fulfill the roles of Marketing & Communications Intern for our upcoming 2024/2025 Women’s and Men’s adult League seasons, as well as youth staff coaches in our 2024/2025 Summer Camps.
The interns will assist the club in different locations across Chicago, coaching or helping out in their designated area, such as the Grassroots programs, Summer Camps, or Media&Marketing. Responsibilities might include session planning, organization and field-set up, as well as representation of club values across the program. Candidates should have a basic knowledge of soccer, rules, and regulations and need to be willing to learn and share passion for the game in their area of work.
Marketing & Communication:
Write pregame stories and post game recaps for our KICS Pre-Professional Men’s & Women’s First Teams in the WPSL and GCSL to be posted online in our newsletter
Assist our Head of Media & Marketing with updates for our social media channels on game days, including game day photos and video (operation of the veo)
Post game clipping of VEO highlights for first team games.
Develop and write stories for KICS FC social media channels
Assist with other duties as assigned, such as administrative reminders for program sign up.
Assist with promotion of our summer program classes through flyer handouts, events and online sharing to
community groups and local businesses.
KICS FC – Pro: Pre-Professional Match Day Operations:
Youth Camp/Grassroots Coaching (Approx 25-30 Hrs/Wk):
Provide youth soccer coaching and program administration for KICS summer youth camps and Grassroots Programs (Juniors/Toddlers)
Coach summer day camps starting in June
Reporting to Grassroots Director and Head of Youth Development
Must be currently studying High School (and be at least a Junior) or a College program related to Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Sport
Management, Sports Administration, Business/Economics, or a related field
Must pay attention to detail
Self-motivating and eager to succeed
Demonstrate leadership and innovation
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience with social media marketing is preferred
Basic knowledge of soccer and its rules
Eager to participate in all aspects of Operations and Events
Take lead on community engagement initiatives for KICS FC
Drivers license and access to a car is preferred
Availability to work all KICS FC home matches and events
*The Community & Corporate Partnerships Summer Intern will report to the CEO and Head of Youth Development, as well as the KICS FC Grassroots Director for Summer Camp and Head of Media and Marketing. This is a paid internship position of $10/Hr coaching only, and non-coaching is unpaid.
