Warehouse Supervisor
POSITION DUTIES
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping team.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure accuracy through regular counts, audits, and reconciliation procedures.
- Coordinate the receipt of incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and oversee the accurate and timely processing of outbound orders.
- Enforce safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment, conduct regular safety inspections, and provide training on proper safety protocols and equipment usage.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that products meet company standards and customer expectations, including conducting inspections and addressing any issues or discrepancies.
- Develop and optimize warehouse workflows and processes to improve productivity, reduce costs, and maximize space utilization.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Set performance goals and objectives for warehouse team, provide regular feedback and coaching, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to inventory, shipments, and warehouse activities.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between warehouse team, other departments within the organization, suppliers, and customers.
- Address any challenges or issues that arise in the warehouse, such as inventory discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or staffing shortages, and implement effective solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements, and implement changes to enhance overall warehouse performance.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS - High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s or technical degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in salary exempt Warehouse Supervisor Role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of an organization
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems
- Should be a strong leader with the ability to successfully delegate work tasks
- Punctual and reliable
- Must be highly organized and self-motivated
- Needs to have high attention to detail
- Needs ability to delegate tasks effectively
- Demonstrated adaptability to unplanned events and changing priorities
- Ability to coordinate and oversee multiple tasks
- Be able to work well in a cross functional team
- PC skills and proficiency in MS Suite preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
- Proficient in warehouse management software
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Repetitive lifting of items up to 50lbs. Ability to stand, walk, or sit to extended periods of time.
