We seek a HEAD OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT RELATIONS to join our PUBLIC POLICY AND GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS (PPGA) team in WASHINGTON, DC – HYBRID.The ideal candidate is strategic, collaborative, and creative, with a successful track record in executing priorities, building coalitions, and adapting to change. You will work with the Head of US Government Relations and other colleagues to develop and advance BNY’s federal policy priorities, elevate the company’s profile in Washington, and build relationships with policymakers and stakeholders. This role reports to the Head of US Government Relations and is based in Washington, DC, with a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office).Key Responsibilities include:Leading the development and execution of federal public policy priorities, engaging with elected officials and policymakers.Collaborating with the PPGA team to understand regulatory and legislative environments impacting our business and aligning strategies.Building and leveraging relationships with policymakers, trade associations, and other allies to advance key priorities.Working with internal teams (Communications, Legal, Foundation, Community Solutions) to address policy issues and serve as a trusted advisor.Preparing briefing materials, presentations, and advocacy content tailored to diverse audiences.Representing BNY in political engagement activities and managing the BNY Political Action Committee strategy.Qualifications:12+ years in public policy, advocacy, or government relations, with experience engaging policymakers and stakeholders, ideally in both public and private sectors, with exposure to financial services issues.Excellent communication skills, capable of distilling complex policies for diverse audiences.Proven leadership in managing policy issues across stakeholders in dynamic environments, focused on solutions.Ability to collaborate broadly and execute independently to deliver results.Creativity, curiosity, self-starting attitude, and adaptability to fast-paced changes.Strong political acumen and understanding of public policy and political dynamics across parties.Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.Our accolades include:America’s Most Innovative Companies, Fortune, 2024World’s Most Admired Companies, Fortune 2024100% score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, 2023-2024Best Places for Disability Inclusion, Disability: IN, 2023-2024“Most Just Companies”, Just Capital and CNBC, 2024Top performer in Sustainability (Dow Jones), 2024Bloomberg’s Gender Equality Index, 2023Benefits and Compensation:We offer competitive pay, benefits, and wellness programs, including flexible resources, paid leaves, and volunteer time.
